David's Melbourne Soundability A/V Site

This months DVD and Amp of the month

The mighty DVPS7700 top end DVD Player what can I say but this unit is flawless I plugged mine in for the first time reccently and love it..10 out of 10. Not having a layer change is great, manual region selection is also fantastic as to overcome future copyright auto region selection lock up, and all the outputs you could possibly want on the back. As too function well its the nicest of all players to use smooth and refined like no other to date a superior quality product for the money paid in Australia. The sound performance is the best I have heard to date... I have heard many .

Sony Fights Back with ES DD/DTS Amps of stunning performance and value
This site is still under construction

Sonys popular STREDA50ES has been a huge success in Australia. May ~September 99 will be a busy time Sony releases 3 new DVD players and the STREDA333ES,555 777 replacement DD/DTS amps... The STR DA555ES replaces the current DA50ES improvements include higher power 120watt x 5, new styling and finally a LCD touchscreen remote you can actually see the screen from most angles. The DVPS725 will be the DVD player to go for when released it will have the same system adopted with the 7700 layer change free viewing !!! DD/DTS and a price tag of $1495 rrp I assume that the DVP325 and 525 will be $1099 and $1299 respectfully.....

The Phillips Hopper Multi Media Projector Has Landed !
At 5.5kg This latest offering from Phillips is absolutely fantastic! No fan noise, the best picture clarity available, super bright 600 ansi lumens, built in line doubling, very smooth contrast adjustment no flaring at high contrast levels,4000 hour globe, full computer connectivity and reasonable price for a top end performer...I was very impressed upon my first test of the Hopper and considering I am a CRT man through and through I have to say WOW!!! they are so close to CRT its not funny... The brightness is so strong, colours are rich, diagonal lines do not have any motion jagger or distortion at all !!! and not having scan lines present either at 150" ( this is the screen size I tested it at )is again WOW.. I tried it on DVD super VHS, TV bradcast and on my PC and it was faultless....

what can I say mmm I want one have a demo it will impress you too !! ...
